bodywork

I began adding various types of therapeutic bodywork into my training programs and philosophy in the early 1990’s when I realized that strength training was not the solution to the entirety of the injuries and problems that hampered my clients. It was at that time that I embraced a Touch for Health (then an AK 100 hour course) followed by a NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) training with Bodyworker David Wiseman. Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR) was the next evolutionary step and one which I found brilliantly incorporated neurology and all the previous bodywork I had learned over the years. I currently use the most cutting edge of bodywork techniques--Z-Health--which I have found to be a phenomenal tool for practitioners and the ultimate overlay to all of previously accumulated Bodywork knowledge. Some of my clients describe this form of therapy as "magic," but all of my clients agree that it has vastly improved their physical fitness and balance, as well as resulted in lasting pain relief.

In short: Z-health has a base rooted in neurology that needs to be addressed in-order for all the other body work and fitness routines we engage in are to have a lasting effect and to fully resolve any injuries or repetitive improper functioning. Software (the nervous system) and all its complexity ultimately drives the hardware (the muscular system); without fixing the software, the body will never feel sufficiently safe to do what it is ultimately capable of doing.

I have taught and elevated the practice of dozens of trainers by teaching them how to employ the complexities of Z-health and, likewise, have personally witnessed the health, fitness, and happiness of hundreds of my own clients vastly improve through my own application of Z-health in combination with various other types of body work, as well as nutritional and lifestyle changes and, of course, fitness training sessions. I have, again and again, seen the fruits of my endeavors--almost always consisting of muscle testing, Z-Health, bodywork, nutritional modifications, and fitness training--result in enhanced movement and increased fitness as well as pain reduction and motivation to continue to pursue improved health. I am one of the lucky few to truly love my profession and am inspired and energized to engage with my clients each and every day.

What People Are Saying

“The last week I wake up and every part of my body feels loose, free, things crack and pop and nothing is sticking. All my muscles are sore in a good way from my 6 days a week workouts and I feel stronger, taller and more relaxed than I have since I was 25.

This is all because of you.

Thank you! I am a lifelong client.”

“It’s hard to explain the level of expertise that Don brings to his work. I’ve worked with him for over a decade through injuries, fatigue, and illness, and he is the one person who is usually able to fix things that others cannot. I’ve been able to achieve athletic performance and a sense of daily wellness that I could never have enjoyed without Don’s help.”

“For years I've been dealing with seemingly unresolvable stomach/digestion problems. After numerous doctor visits, I was left uncured and without answers. As a Division 1 collegiate track athlete, these issues were increasingly beginning to impact my athletic performance. After one visit with Donnie, I felt a WORLD'S difference. My stomach didn't twist after every meal, my body started recovering much more quickly after workouts, and my athletic performance began to sky rocket. I've never felt better, Don is the best!”
